Chasing the Bus by Nina Borum

December 8, 2015

Tonight my heart was touched by Greg. I remember when he first came to PTM. He just showed up one day and we had no record of him. If I remember correctly he came for a couple days without us having anDSCN1149application on him. He really just wanted to be here and it didn’t matter if he had an application or not. Well tonight, he ran on my bus while I was picking up students for our Junior High program. I was surprised to see him because we weren’t anywhere near his house and he was not on my list to pick up.

Me: Greg…what are you doing here?

Greg:  (a little out of breath) I was chasing the bus!!  I’m coming to PTM tonight, I didn’t know when the bus was coming to get me so I started walking, then I saw the bus.

Me: …why didn’t you call me? You aren’t on my route to pick up tonight…

Greg: I was locked out my house, I couldn’t call and I didn’t want to miss tonight so I just started walking.

Me: FROM YOUR HOUSE?? IN THE DARK??

Greg: Yes ma’am…

Greg lives about a mile from PTM and it’s not exactly a safe walk.
The image of him chasing the bus is a good reminder to me of how it was when I first fell for God…nothing could keep me from His presence because I was chasing Him…I’m thankful to Greg for that reminder!
