My name is Jessica Huddleston, and I am a rising junior at Christ Presbyterian Academy. I have been volunteering/interning with PTM for about a year now and I couldn’t be happier. I started off working at PTM with my soccer team for service days and I fell in love with this ministry and started to come every day after school.
PTM has become like a second home to me because honestly I’m here more than I’m at my actual home. I have made some tremendous relationships with the kids throughout my time being here and I couldn’t love them more than I already do. I had never really worked with kids besides babysitting before I started coming to PTM and it gave me a new perspective on life and how to be thankful for the things I do have. Not only have the kids been spectacular but also the staff has made me feel right at home. Every time I get done working at PTM for the day, I feel like I have made a difference and that I am worthy.
The highlight of my day is always walking through the front doors of the Wilson Center and hearing little footsteps running to hug me on my way in or seeing the 5th and 6th graders smile when they see me at 10:40 in the mornings. My favorite thing we have done this summer was definitely the 4th of July games. There was MUCH enthusiasm and fun activities planned for the whole day! I am really looking forward to what the future has in store for me with Preston Taylor Ministries and for the kids who continue to grow in Christ every day.
