On Saturday, March 17th nine 5th graders loaded a PTM van and headed to the Murfreesboro Airport for a field trip they would not soon forget.
The EEA Young Eagles Program hosted our students for an introduction to flying lesson where students learned about aviation, met a WW2 pilot, and even went for a flight where one student got to steer the plane at 1600 feet in the air!
This was a very excited group of kids whose energy and excitement matched their cruising altitude. They boarded their planes wide eyed and nervous and came back down anticipating the next time they would get to soar again.
We are grateful to the Murfreesboro Airport, the EEA Young Eagles Program, and the many pilots who volunteered their time, expertise, and planes to show our students a view like no other.
