For 2 1/2 years I’ve led PTM at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. I’ve had days I cried from the stories I’ve heard, days I’ve nearly snapped, and days I felt completely overwhelmed at the magnitude of brokenness but mostly I’ve laughed because kids say the funniest things, cried tears of joy because of God’s goodness, hugged little ones snug tight, and stood in awe of spiritual transformation.

There has been no doubt in my heart that God called me to PTM as He reaffirmed it over and over. He used this time to mold me into someone new.

Taking a step out as I prepare for motherhood is both a grieving process and sanctification. I love Ainslie more every day and though being her mom is the greatest gift I will deeply miss being “mom #2” or “PTM mom” to these babes. They take up a space in my heart that will always be there. I look forward to raising Ainslie to serve and give to others as she grows into a strong woman of God.

Thank you Preston Taylor Ministries for letting me call this place my job. I look forward to continuing to serve along side you all as a volunteer for many years to come.

Editor’s Note: Katelyn has done an amazing job establishing PTM–Mt. Nebo.  Because of her faithful leadership, there are 20 students who have had outstanding opportunities to grow academically, to grow in faith, and to feel connected and a sense of belonging.  While we will miss Katelyn tremendously, we are excited for her to pursue her God-inspired dream as a mom.  She leaves behind a great foundation where students at Mt. Nebo will continue to have wonderful opportunities to grow and learn.  According to Bethany, Katelyn’s replacement at Mt. Nebo, “not only is Katelyn leaving big shoes to fill, but they are cute, too.”
