All children need to dream. Not just normal dreams, but God-inspired dreams. PTM provides several avenues for dream pursuit. Some of the opportunities happen as part of the afterschool program, but many take place “after hours”.
Fun Friday
Every Friday (4:00-6:00) during the school year, over 150 PTM children are exposed to a variety of volunteer-led enrichment opportunities including: dance, sports, art, music, gardening, among others. Students from all other after school sites come to the Wilson Center and Community House on this day.
Retreats and Camps
A few times a year groups of students from PTM get out of town for a night or two to take part in a retreat. Previous retreats have been held at Barefoot Republic Camp, Camp Sycamore, Camp Widgiwagan, and Camp NaCoMe. These retreats provide a chance for speakers to go deeper with scripture, small groups to interact, cabin time building friendships, team-building, and free time for fun and dreaming. PTM also takes students on camping trips to expose to outdoor activities.
Field Trips
Nearly every weekend, PTM students are going somewhere–Adventure Science Center, a sporting event, a museum, flying in a plane, to the pumpkin patch, a pinewood derby, a movie or a play, or to a reading camp at a park. These field trips create the context for strengthened friendships and more opportunities to dream.
